2014 Arthritis Walks

Cat and Chris M. represented our alumnae chapter at the Lake County Arthritis Walk on Saturday, April 26, 2014.  Since we no longer have an Arthritis Walk near us, we headed up north to spend the morning with our Lake County and Chicago Northwest Suburban Alumnae Chapter AOII sisters.  We love any opportunity to be together, and the sunshine made this a perfect morning for us!

What Our Book Club is Reading in April and May

Our book club is currently reading The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan and will discuss it on April 9, 2014 at PF Changs in Lombard.  All sisters are welcome to join us.  If you haven't read the book, we'd still love to have you!

Please bring 1-2 book  and restaurant ideas for the summer/fall months.
If anyone would like to exchange the book they got at the Christmas book exchange, please bring your finished book for new trading.

We're meeting on May 7, 2014 at 7:00pm at Mon Ami Gabi in Oakbrook to discuss The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery.  This is Chris M.'s favorite book, and she's very excited to share it with us.  She advises....."If it doesn't grab your attention at the beginning, please keep going.  It gets much better!"

Please contact us at cwsaoii(at)gmail(dot)com for more details about our book club and our alumnae chapter.

April Meeting and Ritual

Please join us on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at 7:00pm at Julie's home in Wheaton.  This is a very special meeting.  We will install our new officers during Ritual and celebrate several special membership anniversaries.  Don't worry if you haven't done Ritual since college.  We will help you.  Alumnae don't have to wear whites either.  We wear "badge attire" to this event.  We will also enjoy ice cream sundaes, so please bring your favorite topping!  Contact Chris M. for more details at chrismilleraoii(at)gmail(dot)com.

March 2014 Book Club

Our chapter book club met on March 12, 2014 at Antico Posto in Oakbrook to discuss our most recent books.  We always have an interesting discussion.  Our group is good about reading the books and coming to our gatherings with insightful comments and questions.  All sisters are welcome to join us, whether or not you've read the book.  Please contact us for more details.

Wine and Roses

We enjoyed a lovely evening of wine-tasting at the home of Lisa S. on March 19, 2014.  We took some time to discuss chapter business, but there was lots of time to be together and hang out.  Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought school supplies for our collegiate sisters.
We presented Fran with our Honor Card!

Fran gets to wear Margaret's badge for the next year!

Kim and Suzette

Lisa planned a fun wine-tasting event.  We sampled lots of different wines and got to take a bottle home, too!

The big reveal!
