Happy Holidays from Chicago West Suburban! Last week we gathered together for dessert, drinks, and our annual gift exchange.  While it may have gotten a little competitive when it came to stealing, laughter filled the room!

Despite it being a cold and windy morning on Saturday, the Jingle Bell run was a huge success!  Thank you to all who donated and helped Team AOII become one of the top three fundraisers!

Over the weekend, CWS sisters volunteered at Feed My Starving Children, where they hand packed nutritious meals that are specifically designed to assist in ending global hunger.

On Saturday sisters enjoyed a sisterhood stroll through Graue Mill/Fullersburg Woods.

Last night's meeting featured officer updates, writing Christmas cards to veterans, and wonderful conversations!

Last night sisters met at the Driftwood Grill to talk about "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah.  It was so nice to spend time with sisters at a restaurant while we discussed our July selection!

2021 Virtual International Convention Awards Watch Party!

This weekend sisters took advantage of a beautiful day for an outdoor sisterhood/art class.  Thank you to Lynn for teaching us how to make glass garden art in the shape of flowers!

For the first time in over a year, sisters gathered together for dinner on Pinstripes patio.  We've missed spending time together in person, so it was a welcomed night filled with laughter and sisterhood!

During tonight's book club, we discussed the characters of both "The Midnight Library" and "Oona Out of Order".  However, before our discussion officially got started, we had a few new feline friends steal the show!

This month's book club discussion took us to a remote island off the west coast of Ireland for a high profile wedding, that quickly turned into a murder mystery in the "The Guest List" by Lucy Foley.

Through the combined efforts of our sisters, Chicago West donated over 150 valentine's via our Valentine's for Seniors philanthropy last week!  Thank you to all of you who helped spread love and cheer to our local seniors!

On Wednesday, our book club met to discuss the chilling expedition that took place in "The Arctic Fury".

Earlier this week, CWS enjoyed a cooking demo led by our Chicago Northwest Suburban sister, Stephanie Mete Spletzer, and her husband Alan!  They taught us how to make Bucatini alla Carbonara, Tomato Frittes, and Salted Brown Butter Crispy Treats.  It looked delicious and we were told it smelled just as good!  Many thanks to Stephanie and Alan for a delightful evening!

Like many things in 2020, our Founders' Day panda delivery to Comer Children's Hospital was put on hold earlier this year.  However, after an extended stay in sealed garbage bags, the pandas were allowed to be delivered last week - curbside of course!  After a short quarantine period at the hospital, the pandas will be on their way to finding their forever homes!

Our annual holiday celebration may have looked a little different this year, but our sisterhood hasn't changed.  Last month our Secret Stella's were revealed and our raffle winners were announced!  The Educational Minute featured Lori Jesberg Achilles and her time in Law Enforcement.

This year may not have been what we all hoped, but we are grateful for family, good health, and our sisterhood.  We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season!
